Q&A with the Finks
The Finks leave for Greece TODAY as they begin a two-month short-term mission, which is part of a longer-term journey toward full-time missions in 2026. Please pray for Connor, Kelsey, and their two boys as they step out in obedience.
We love you, Fink family! Thank you for living a surrendered life and pointing us to Jesus.

A Life of Surrender – Q&A with the Fink Family
This past Sunday, our church had the incredible honor of sitting down with Connor and Kelsey Fink for a powerful Q&A interview as they prepare to launch to Greece. Their story is a moving picture of what it looks like to live with open hands, say "yes" to Jesus, and trust Him with everything. Below are a few highlights from the conversation.
Q: Connor, how did a simple Texas boy end up feeling called to the nations?
Connor: It started with hearing testimonies from friends who were having radical encounters with God. That stirred a hunger in me to experience God for myself. I began following Jesus at 19 and shortly after, heard stories of what God was doing globally. I remember thinking, "If God is moving like that, I have to see it." That led to my first short-term trip to North Africa, where we saw incredible miracles. From there, one trip led to another, and the journey continued.
Q: Kelsey, how did this call become your own?
Kelsey: God called me to the nations when I was 18. I met Connor in college, where we co-led mission trips. I saw the calling on his life, and I knew I wanted to follow Jesus with him. One thing the Lord told me was, "You can go anywhere with Connor, and you'll be okay."
Q: What marked you both for long-term international missions?
Connor: It wasn’t just seeing miracles—it was seeing God’s heart for the nations. Experiencing the depth of His love for people who had never heard the Gospel was transformational.
Kelsey: For me, I realized God wanted to use me—not because I had all the answers, but because He loved me. Going on mission felt like going to work with my Father.
Q: What have you learned overseas that we can apply here in the U.S.?
Kelsey: God wants to move here the same way He moves overseas. He wants to heal, save, and transform right here in our neighborhoods. It just takes our obedience.
Connor: Don’t trade intimacy with Jesus for strategic outcomes. We learned the hard way that doing "all the right things" without daily dependence on Him leads to burnout. Start with intimacy.
Q: What’s the difference between counting the cost and paying it?
Connor: Counting the cost is theoretical; paying it is practical. It's one thing to say "yes" and another to pack your things, sell your furniture, and step into the unknown. It’s costly, but Jesus is worth it.
Q: What promises from Scripture have you clung to?
Connor: John 6:68 – "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." When Jesus says go, we follow. Mark 10:29-30 has also been key.
Kelsey: Philippians 3:10 – We get to share in His sufferings and know Him more deeply in it. That’s been my anchor.
Q: Final encouragement to the church?
Kelsey: Being with Jesus is the best place. Wherever He calls you, say yes.
Connor: Obedience is never a bad idea. Safety isn’t in figuring everything out; it’s in surrendering to Him.
