To Gaze Upon His Beauty — Part 2

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose…” — Romans 8:28

“When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.” — Psalm 73:21–28

1. What’re you looking at?

  • “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. — Colossians 3:1-4

2. What if you saw that…

  • You are always with God.

  • God holds you by your right hand.

  • God guides you with His counsel.

    • “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” — Psalm 32:7–8

  • Afterward, God will take you into glory.

3. Reframe it!

  • Hold on to TRUTH!

    • “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” — Psalm 73:25-26

  • We are not victims. Our future is secure.

    • “Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.” — Psalm 73:27

  • Near, Refuge, Tell…

    • “But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.” — Psalm 73:28

Strengthen Your Heart

“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.” — 1 Thess. 3:12-13
